Vertical Machining Center Makino PS65

The PS65 CNC vertical machining center is setting a new standard in the production machining arena. By design, the PS65 and PS95 machines offer a unique blend of power, speed, precision, efficiency, flexibility and productivity. The PS-Series machines design incorporates a heavy cast iron construction for stiffness, rigidity and precision.  This CNC vertical machining center also includes core-cooled ballscrews and temperature control for precision and linear guideways for speed and performance.

The 40-taper spindle (or optional HSK configuration) provides an exceptional combination of high spindle speeds, to take advantage of the latest tooling technology and aggressive machining of aluminum parts, and an outstanding torque range for the tough materials and applications. At 33.5 hp, 14,000 rpm and 140 ft-lbs of torque, this combination provides the speed and power required to dominate a wide variety of applications in the ever-changing production shop environment.

Add a 30-tool magazine (or an optional 50 ATC), a very quick tool-change time, easy access and outstanding load/unload ergonomics to minimize operator fatigue, along with an auto lubrication system to ensure long-term operational integrity, and the PS-Series machine will provide hours of worry-free production time.

Combine these basic machine characteristics with an operator-friendly, easy-to-use control, 435 psi through spindle coolant, six-nozzle flood coolant, work-wash coolant and very effective, efficient chip management, including a scraper-style lift-up chip conveyor, and you have all of the elements required for competitive production part manufacturing.

To control the thermal displacement that arises during high usage of rapid movements of the axes over long periods of time, PS series machine is equipped with core cooling ballscrews and axes bearing oil lubrication. This ensures machining positioning accuracy and consistency.
A well-lubricated support bearing also extends the axis support bearing life. At the same time, it also ensures that the support bearing is cooled and thermal stability is achieved.

Dual speed during ATC arm swing to ensure smooth tool change and optimum time

The system ensures proper tool clamping during tool change in order to increase tool life and proper seating in both the spindle and the ATC pots.

Each tool can be customised as to the type of arm speed to be used during ATC. High speed for tools with less than 6kg of weight and low speed for tools with more than 6kg weight. This will increase the productivity of the machine by decreasing non cutting time that is consumed during tool change.
